たまたま知り合った方達とハシゴでこんなお店に。
大量のレコードが並ぶ。
オーディオも真空管アンプと分厚いターンテーブルが目を引く。
背後にある大型スピーカーはＪＢＬとアルテック。
思わず、昔読んでいたＦＭレコパルの世界が目の前に広がる。
「だいたい何でも大丈夫ですよ」と微笑むマスター。
話の流れで、カーペンターズの『スーパースター』を聞く。
そうこうしているうちにニコレット・ラーソンの話から西海岸トークになり、イーグルスの話が出てくる。
「サンボーンが『ロングラン』に参加してましたよね」
「そうそう、『サッド・カフェ』イイ曲でしたよねえ」
と、たまたまアマゾンで買ったこれを未開封のまま持ち歩いていたので、ここで開封。

悪友（？）とにぃさんのデイヴィッド・サンボーンのご紹介はこんな感じ。
日本における７０年代サックス・プレイヤーの真打
当時、ＢＭに乗せてカーステレオ（もちろんＴＤＫのメタルテープ）でSanborn聴かせれば、女子大生はみんな股ひらくと言われた恐るべきプレイ
何分の１拍か遅れるタメというかコブシと、「泣きのサンボーン」と呼ばれるメロディライン
誰か知らない人の曲の中で、ほんのワンフレーズだけ吹いていても、すぐSanbornだってわかっちゃう
とっても工口いご説明に感謝。
私は高校生の時にけっこう聞いていた。
女子大生とはご縁もないし、ＢＭやＴＤＫのメタルテープを買える財力も無かった。
男子高校生も魅了される音色だったのだ。
ふう。
ということで、今日はこちらの曲をご紹介。
最終部分のサックスの音色を聞いて濡れちゃった方。
