Hello,
This is S‑shal.

On humid nights, the air feels gentle on the throat.
Even just breathing in feels soft, almost comforting.
Iimagine the frogs feel the same way.
On nights like this, they draw in breath again and again,
thinking:
“Tonight will be an easy night to sing
”
“Feels good
”
And so they call out— bright, energetic, resonant.

Here’s where their artistry really stands out.
They sing in 7/8 time.
There’s a tiny shift in the rhythm,
as if they place a rest on the seventh beat.
During that silent beat,
they seem to listen to the voices around them.
Each frog sings its own 7/8 pattern,
layered on top of the others.
To most people it probably sounds like noise,
a jumble of overlapping rhythms.
But if you sit down after a warm bath,
relaxed, drink in hand,
and simply listen…you’ll notice a gentle sway,
a pleasant kind of wavering in the air.
It’s as if they’re all
creating a rhythm together.
