Facebook のアメリカ人の友達に、メッセージで
「What is Satsuki ?」と聞かれたので、
「Satsuki means old name of May.
They say Gogatsu in the present time.」
と答えました。
後日、１月～１２月までの陰暦の月の名前を
教えてあげました。
On May 1, you asked "What is Satsuki?".
For your better understanding Japanese,
I tell you all of the old names of Month.
They use the old names of month for the sense of seasons.
English / Present Japanese
/ Old Japanense
January / Ichigatsu：１月（いちがつ）
/ Mutuki：睦月（むつき）
February / Nigatsu：２月（にがつ）
/ Kisaragi：如月（きさらぎ）
March / Sangatsu：３月（さんがつ）
/ Yayoi：弥生（やよい）
April / Shigatsu：４月（しがつ）
/ Uzuki：卯月（うづき）
May / Gogatsu：５月（ごがつ）
/ Satsuki：皐月（さつき）
June / Rokugatsu：６月（ろくがつ）
/ Minazuki：水無月（みなづき）
July / Shichigatsu：７月（しちがつ）
/ Humiduki：文月（ふみづき）
August / Hachigatsu：８月（はちがつ）
/ Hazuki：葉月（はづき）
September / Kugatsu：９月（くがつ）
/ Nagatsuki：長月（ながつき）
October / Juugatsu：１０月（じゅうがつ）
/ Kannazuki：神無月（かんなづき）［excepting in Izumo］
Kamiarizuki：神在月（かみありづき）［in Izumo］
＊Izumo is one of the old Japanese States.
It is a part of Shimane Prefecture in present days.
November / Juuichigatsu：１１月（じゅういちがつ）
/ Shimotsuki：霜月（しもつき）
December / Juunigatsu：１２月（じゅうにがつ）
/ Shiwasu：師走（しわす）

１０月は神無月と神在月があるため、
簡単に補足をしましたが、
詳しく説明する必要があると思い、

Here is more detail explanation about October.
In Japanese Shintoism, They believe that
there are 8 million Gods in the world,
and they thought Gods live in every single thing.
They believe that all of Gods gather at Izumo Shrine
in the State of Izumo (It is a part of Shimane
Prefecture in present days) and have a meeting
from October 11 to 17 every year.
So, it is Kamiarizuki (Gods existing month)
in the State of Izumo,
and it is kannazuki (Gods absent month)
in the other States.

これが１０月についての詳しい説明です。
日本の神道では、日本には八百萬（やおよろず）の神が
いると信じられていて、この世のあらゆる物に
神が宿っていると考えられていました。
毎年１０月１１日～１７日に
出雲の国（現在の島根県の一部）にある出雲大社に
神様が集まって会議が行なわれると信じられていました。
そのため、出雲の国では神在月（神がいる月）、
出雲以外の国は神無月（神がいない月）と言われて
いるのです。
