I’m not really familiar on how Literature students like you work on your Research Papers. In my case, abstracts like these are very significant in my field so I was thinking that this might help you somehow.

We analyzed results from a questionnaire survey on Hikikomori (social withdrawal) conducted by the Ishikawa branch, the Hikikomori KHJ Parents Association. Sixty-four persons who were considered as Hikikomori were surveyed.
The results were as follows:
1. Eighty percent of Hikikomori persons were male. Eighty percent of them were grown-ups and a great number of them were in the early 20s. Many of them began to isolate themselves from society in their junior high or high school days. Approximately a half of them have been isolated for five years or longer.
2. Over half of them were able to go out of home, e.g. for shopping at convenience stores where there is no need to contact with people. They had an ordinary daily life, on the surface, helping the family with house-works, reading books, playing games, and so forth on.
3. On the other hand, 30 percent of them, stayed in their house even in their own room, were unable to go out. Some of those people had serious problems such as domestic violence or psychiatric symptoms.
