Good day.
Japan has many issues we are facing on. The most serious issue is definitely the super aged society. Population decreasing causes empty house issue as well, especially in rural areas. There are more than 9 million empty houses now across Japan. People, especially young people, move out the countryside and into the cities like Tokyo because of job or school. These millions of empty houses will remain vacancy despite cheaper price. These empty house would cause security and hygiene issues. Many local govenrnment has started to tackle with this problem. But these plans in local government may not work well. Despite empty house issue, new houses and apartments are building even now in the cities. Often people don't want to inherit a home in the countryside from their parents, as they are unable to live there, and it could cost too much to demolish it or look for a person who want to rent. What this imbalance will make a problem?
This issue would proceed certainly in the future. I believe that public discussion and bravery political decision are needed. Would the revised vacant house law be able to solve the problem?
Mr. Shinji Ishimaru, the local governor in Akitakata city declaired he will run the next election of Tokyo metropolitan govonor. One of his policy is resolving the excess concentration of population and industry in the Tokyo Metropolitan area. But is it what citizens in Tokyo want to?
