立川志の輔さん作の落語を映画化した「大河への道」を観ました。初めて日本全土の地図を作製したとされる伊能忠敬を大河ドラマにしようと奔走する公務員の話です。決して大笑いしたり泣いたりする映画ではないのですが、じんわり面白いです。

I watched "The way to Taiga Drama" based on Rakugo(Japanese traditional talking show) by Shinosuke Tachikawa, on NETFLIX in the bullet train on the way to Tokyo. The stage of this movie is Katori city, Chiba prefecture. Yasuharu Ikemoto (played by Kiichi Nakai) who works for municipal city office try to make the story of Tadataka Inoo Taiga drama, a popular TV series on Saturday nights in NHK. This movie depicts his way to achieve his goal of making the story Taiga drama. The fun thing of the movie, I thought, is that the movie depicts two different stories, the current era and Edo era, played by the same actors and actresses. And Shinosuke Tachikawa who wrote the Rakugo is also featured in the movie. I think Kiichi Nakai is a talented actor.
This movie is not emotional, you wouldn't laugh very much and not cry too but very fun.
By the way, I saw the statue of Tadataka Inoo at Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine in Koto-ku, Tokyo.

The online English tutor yesterday was from Namibia, South West African country. She said that English is the official language in Namibia. She speaks English fluently of course but I don't accept that what people speak English just can get a job. They don't teach grammar, vocabulary. They just speak English. However, students including me have an issue too. We can't use a tutor effectively. We have to ask questions about what we want to be taught.
