「理想主義の技術者がイタリア沖に自ら島を建設し、国家として独立を宣言。”理想郷”をうたい世界中から注目を集めるが、イタリア政府からは目の敵にされてしまう。」
Hello there, I'm glad you're here.
I watched ROSE ISLAND (L'incredibile storia dell'Isola delle Rose) on Netflix. The story is based on the real story in 1968. I didn't know the story of the Rose Island at all.
The story line according to imdb website is,
An idealistic engineer builds his own island off the Italian coast and declares it a nation, drawing the world's attention. Values are tested when the Italian Government declares him an enemy, but to change the world risks must be taken.
I was impressed with the engineer's willing, skills, and commitment to declare of its independence of the artificial small island. And I was very surprised that citizen in the Rose Island had had implemented Esperanto, a constructed international auxiliary language as its official language. I had learned Esperanto a little in my childhood at a summer school. I forgot that completely but I remember the concept of Esperanto. I didn't know the relationship between Rose Island and Esperanto.
