仕事で2週間来日している外国人の同僚二人と新橋でランチに行きました。刺身が好きだというので香川・愛媛せとうち料理のお店「かおりひめ」に行きました。
僕はブリ漬け丼セット、1,000円
I went out to eat lunch with two global colleagues in Shimbashi area yesterday. We selected the restaurant to 'KAORIHIME' that serve special cuisines of Setouchi area, Kagawa and Ehime prefectures.
I ordered Buri zukedon (Yellowtail dipped in soy sauce rice bowl) set. It was 1,000 yen.
The reson why we selected this restaurant was global colleagues like Sashimi. Most foreign people say they like Sashimi.
セットのうどん。関西風のお出汁です。
彼らは何回も日本に来ていますが、うどんを食べるのは初めてらしく、美味しいけど、ラーメンの方が好きって正直に言ってました(笑)そりゃラーメンの方が外国人の口には合うでしょうね。
This was Udon noodles in the set menu.
They said, they have never eat Udon noodles even though they have been in Japan several times. She expressed Udon noodle were big noodle. The Udon had good texture, and the soup had mild taste such as Kansai soup.
However, they said they prefer ramen noodles. Absolutely! I fully understand. The taste of ramen noodles are fitted for foreign people.
その二人の外国人は香港とインドネシア生まれ。英語は第二外国語なのですが、とても流暢です。香港で生まれた人は幼稚園からの英語教育で、インドネシアで生まれた人は中学から英語教育を受けたそうです。それよりも大事なのは両親が自分の子供に英語を身に着けさせるために子供のころから英語で話しかけたりと色々努力をしていたということでした。やはり海外で働く可能性が高い国では、英語を話せるかどうかは日本よりも重要ですもんね。
あとは海外で働くことを子供のころから意識しておくことも大事なんだと感じました。日本とは全然違うなあ。
They are usually working at Singapore. He was born in Hong Kong. And she was born in Indonesia. Of course, they can speak English fluently, but their mother tongue is not English. He had taken English lesson since kindergarten. She had taken since junior high school. They said their parents sticked their children to learn English when they were child. Emvironment is really important to master English. Environment about learning English is really different between Japan and other countries. They have been thinking to work at other countries since they were child.
They are working in global field with global mentality. I want to be like them.
