新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団の発表
佐渡裕氏 新日本フィル音楽監督および ミュージック・アドヴァイザー就任のお知らせ

新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団は、指揮者 佐渡裕氏を第5 代音楽監督として迎えることを発表いたします。任期は2023 年4 月より2027 年3 月までの４年間とし、それに先立ち2022 年4 月より1 年間、ミュージック・アドヴァイザーとして、新日本フィルの演奏会プログラミング等に携わっていただきます。
1961 年5 月京都市出身の佐渡氏は、故レナード・バーンスタイン、新日本フィルの創設者で桂冠名誉指揮者でもある小澤征爾に師事。現在オーストリアのトーンキュンストラー管弦楽団音楽監督、兵庫県立芸術文化センター芸術監督、シエナ・ウインド・オーケストラ首席指揮者を務める他、これまでロンドン交響楽団、パリ管弦楽団、ベルリン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、ベルリン・ドイツ交響楽団、ローマ・サンタ・チェチーリア国立管弦楽団等欧州を中心に世界屈指の楽団で客演を重ねてきました。
新日本フィルとは1988 年2 月に初共演し、1989 年ブザンソン国際指揮者コンクール優勝後最初の国内デビューコンサートでも共演しました（1990 年1 月オーチャードホール）。その後1992 年9 月より95 年7 月まで「指揮者」を務め、これまでに90 回以上の共演歴を誇ります。
今後、新日本フィル50 周年記念期間には、2022 年1 月「すみだクラシックの扉」、5 月「トリフォニーホール＆サントリーホール・シリーズ」への登場が決まっています。

Yutaka Sado appointed as Music Director and Music Adviser of the New Japan Philharmonic
The New Japan Philharmonic Foundation (Sumida-ku, Tokyo, Chairman Yoshihiko Miyauchi, hereinafter referred to as the New Japan Philharmonic) appointed Yutaka Sado as the fifth Music Director. The four-year term will start in April 2023 until March 2027, and prior to that, he will be involved in concert programming for the orchestra as the Music Adviser for one year from April 2022.
Born in Kyoto in May 1961, Maestro Sado studied under the late Leonard Bernstein, and Seiji Ozawa, the founder and the honorary conductor of the New Japan Philharmonic. He is currently the music director of the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Austria, the artistic director of the Hyogo Performing Arts Center, and the principal conductor of the Siena Wind Orchestra. Maestro Sado has guest-conducted world’s renowned orchestras centering in Europe, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and L’Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
Maestro Sado first stepped onto the New Japan Philharmonic podium in February 1988. He made his first domestic debut with the orchestra in January 1990 (Orchard Hall), after winning the Grand Prize of the Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors in 1989. He served as the “conductor” of the New Japan Philharmonic and conducted over 90 performances from September 1992 until July 1995.
Maestro Sado will appear during the celebration of 50th anniversary of the New Japan Philharmonic including “Doors of Sumida Classic” in January 2022 and in the “Triphony Hall & Suntory Hall Series” in May 2022.
