On Aug. 30, Chinese President Xi Jinping departed from an airport in Beijing in order to attend a Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, and arrived in Bishkek.
The state-run Xinhua News Agency reported so.
According to the Russian presidential office, President Vladimir Putin is also scheduled to attend and will hold a meeting with Xi on the 31st.

Xi Jinping issued a speech-letter upon his visit to Kyrgyzstan. He pointed out that "the bilateral cooperative relations has entered a [golden age] of rapid development" and he would exchange views with President Sadyr Japarov on international issues of mutual interests, etc.
Xi is also scheduled to visit Egypt.
Due to t he background of its rivalry with the U.S., China has attempted to upgrade ties with the "Global South," the group comprising emerging and developing countries.
