On Aug. 25, CBS News in the U.S. reported that CIA Director John Lee Ratcliffe was visiting Moscow on that day and was scheduled to hold talks with the Russian side.
He allegedly traveled there aboard a U.S. military C-17 heavy transport aircraft.
It didn't comment on the agenda or the specific officials with whom he would meet.
Ratcliffe is forecasted to talk about such as peace in Ukraine.
According to the TASS news agency, he held a phone conference with Sergey Yevgenyevich Naryshkin, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), in late June of last year.
TASS also reported that the C-17 transport aircraft arrived in Moscow around 10:00 am on the 25th.
The flight seems to have originated from an air force base near Washington, D.C., and via Latvia along the way.
