On Aug. 8, Taiwan's Defense Ministry conducted a military exercise simulating the prevention of a landing by the Chinese PLA.
The Coast Guard Administration also participated in the drill.
In addition to its military activities, China has been intensifying its activities by its Coast Guard and government vessels in the waters surrounding Taiwan.
Taiwan, too, upgrades coordinated responses between its forces and the Coast Guard.

It's part of the "Han Kuang 42 exercise," an annual large-scale military exercise that began on Aug. 5.
It was demonstrated to the press at a naval base (* Zuoying Naval Base) in Kaohsiung City, southern Taiwan.
Small naval missile boat(s) was mobilizzed to block a potential landing by Chinese PLA.
Coast Guard patrol vessels capable of carrying missiles also set sail. Reconnaissance drones were launched as well.
President Lai Ching-te inspected the drill and delivered an address, saying that "I expect you to upgrade coordination in the face of external threats and defend our sovereignty."
