On Nov. 28, the independent Russian media outlet "Agentstvo" reported that, before resigning in last September, (then) Deputy Kremlin Chief of Staff Dmitri Nikolayevich Kozak, a close aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, wrote a letter to Putin in harsh terms criticizing the making inroad into Ukraine.
It's explained to be based on multiple sources' testimonies.

Kozak was a close aide to Putin, who supported him since before he became president in 2000.
He was the only influential figure in the administration to openly oppose the making inroad into Ukraine, a view has emerged that he therefore displeased Putin and had lost influence.
After Putin dismissed Kozak as Deputy Kremlin Chief of Staff in last Sept., there was speculation that he would enter the business circle. However, his new role has yet been revealed.
