On Nov. 10, the KEPCO kicked off a drilling survey in order for newly construction of a nuclear power plant at the Mihama nuclear power plant (Mihama Town, Fukui Pref.).
In the early half of its two-phase survey, by March 2027, the geological conditions and hardness of the ground will be confirmed at 21 locations on and around the site, and an area suitable for construction of a nuclear power plant will be selected.
A protest activity was done at a nearby place.
> 関電によると、同日午後１時ごろ、原発北側エリアにある敷地内の１カ所でボーリング調査を開始。
> 夕方までに地下約３メートル地点まで掘り進めた。
> 最終的に地下約 65メートルまで掘る予定。
> ゲート前では近隣市町の住民ら約 30人が集まり「原発建設をやめろ」などとシュプレヒコールを上げた。
According to the KEPCO, the drilling surveys was begun at around 1pm on that day at a location on the site north of the nuclear power plant.
By the evening, drilling had progressed to a depth of approx. 3 m underground.
The company plans to ultimately dig to a depth of approx. 65 metres underground.
Around 30 residents of nearby cities and towns gathered in front of the gate, while chanting slogans such as "Stop the construction of the nuclear power plant!"
