On Aug. 21 evening, during his speech at a dinner party for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) currently being held in Yokohama, PM Shigeru Ishiba lamented that "There's not much joyful matters, when you're president or prime minister."
His remark seems to have drawn laughter from the participating world leaders. However, it could also be interpreted as a complaint about the LPD intra-party calls for his resignation.
He called for that "have a good time everybody, please" and offered a toast, while making a retort to FM Takeshi Iwaya, who was also in attendance, saying that "Not to laugh due to that."
