There are 56 candidates in the Tokyo gubernatorial election.
One of them is Takahiro Anno, a young AI engineer who graduated from the University of Tokyo.
Why di a young engineer at the state of the art technology decide to run for office in the analog world of politics?
According to Anno, he felt it was unclear how their votes were being reflected.
When he interviewed members of the National Diet and Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, he even heard some say that "I'm not clear what the voters have entrusted to me."
He revealed that the reason why he decided to run was that he thought technology could be used to better gather voter opinion.
