Translation; Stintino Mayor Rita Limbania Vallebella expressed to change the wording of the inscription of the statue of camp follower (* aka comfort women) installed in a public land in Italy

> イタリア西部サルデーニャ島のスティンティーノ市の公有地に、旧日本軍の従軍慰安婦だった女性らを象徴する少女像が設置された問題で、バッレベッラ市長が 21日、共同通信の取材に応じた。
> 像設置を主導した韓国市民団体の「一方的な主張が碑文に記されている」として「文言変更を検討している」と明らかにした。
Concerning the issue that the statue of girl symbolizing the former (* not) military comfort women (* aka camp followers) of former Japanese forces has been installed in a public land in "Stintino" on the western Italian island of Sardinia, on June 21, Mayor Rita Limbania Vallebella was covered by Kyodo News.
She revealed to "have been considering to change the wording," saying that the "one-sided argument is written in its inscription" of a S. Korean civic organization, which led erection of the statue.
> 一方で、像は「女性に対する戦争犯罪への普遍的な批判の気持ちを込めている」と述べ、政治利用だとして問題化しない限り「撤去の考えはない」とも表明した。
On the other hand, she said that the statue "is embedded universal condemnation of war crimes against females" and expressed "I have no intention to remove that" unless it won't be problematized as political use.

The inscription specified that CW issue was "a crime comparable to the Holocaust, in that many females were abducted and forced into sex slaves, etc."
The contents grilling responsibility of Japan was embedded too.
The unveiling ceremony will be held on June 22.

Mayor Vallebella explained that "I studied about CW issue insufficiently. I didn't intend to criticize Japan alone."
She was also allegedly explained by official(s) at the Japanese Embassy in Italy, and stated that "We will revise the inscription to include both the positions of Japan and S. Korea."
