On June 16 (local time), S. Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, who was on a state visit to Uzbekistan, planted a commemorative tree together with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to celebrate the bilateral cooperation.
It's aimed to celebrate the agreed-achievements such as to expand the bilateral "special strategic companionship" and export S. Korean high-speed rail vehicles at the summit meeting for more than 120 minutes on that day.

On that day, Kim Tae-hyo, 1st deputy director of the National Security Office of the S. Korean Presidential Office, held a press briefing at a local press center, and said that "The commemorative tree planting by President Yoon and President Mirziyoyev took place in front of the Presidential Guest House in the capital, Tashkent."

He went on to say that "Congratulations on the 1st step of the K-Silk Road and we hope that the bilateral relations will develop vigorously toward a bright future" and explained that "They planted a fir tree right next to the one he planted by Russian President Vlaimir Putin in last May."
It's what the Presidential Office explained that, due to the visit this time, it's possible to interpret it as a meaning to have fixed the trust as equal to Uzbekistan's traditional major partner, Russia.
