On June 15, the government released that a U.S.-Japan extended deterrence consultation between "foreign affairs" & "defense" authorities was held on June 13 and 14 at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in US-WY to talk about "extended deterrence," in which the U.S. would be involved in the defense of Japan with nuclear weapons and conventional forces.
The U.S. side expressed its intention to upgrade the regional deterrent effect of nuclear weapons.
Both sides agreed that it's necessary to upgrade integrated deterrence in order to ensure defense thoroughly.
