On June 3, S. Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol released it's "very likely" that massive oil and gas are possibly reserved in the Sea of Japan off Pohang in North Gyeongsang Province in southeastern S. Korea.
It's explained that >"The reserve off Yeongil Bay in Pohang, about 260 kilometers southeast of Seoul, could hold up to 14 billion barrels of oil and gas."
It's explained to start test drilling soon, and it's forecasted that the result will turn out by the first half of next year.
Regarding the reserve-amount, he said that "We judge that the amount is enough for the whole S. Korea to use for up to 29 years for natural gas and up to more than four years for oil."
