When Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao commented on the Taiwanese issue in a roundtable discussion on May 20, he remarked that >"If Japan ties itself onto the chariot of splitting China, the Japanese people will be led into a pit of fire" and caused displeasure on the Japanese side.
It was former PM Yukio Hatoyama, SDP leader Mizuho Fukushima and the only pro-China scholars with whom he invited to the roundtable discussion.
Bejing has been carrying out "influence anipulation" in the Japanese public opinion, but it's rather negative.
