On May 16, the U.S. Dept. of the Treasury (USDT) released on impose sanctions on two Russian nationals and three Russian companies for their involvement in importing arms from North Korea to Russia.
Their assets in the U.S. will be frozen and financial transactions be restricted.
According to the USDT, the two males have been involving in the import of mortars and military communication equipment since as latest as 2023.
A senior USDT official emphasized that the sanctions "are intended to prevent the deepening of Russo-N. Korea military cooperation ."
