Translation; Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair was on alert to nearing Russo-N. Korea and showed intention to cooperate with Japan and S. Korea

On May 13, Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair participated in a meeting with defense journalists in Washington DC, the U.S., and showed an intention to upgrade cooperation with Japan and S. Korea in the Indo-Pacific region.
He was on alert the nearing of the two countries, saying that weapons provided by N. Korea to Russia were being used in Ukraine.

DM Blair emphasized the need to increase Canada's presence in the Indo-Pacific and promote bilateral and multilateral collaboration.
He said that (Canada) shared sense of values with Japan and S. Korea and expressed an expectation that "This is a great opportunity to further strengthen our ties," and said to have been "having useful talks" with senior officials from both countries.

The Canadian forces has been conducting operations to cross the Taiwan Strait with the U.S. Forces in order to check China, which is increasing military pressure on Taiwan, and said that "We will continue to do so."
In prior to that, DM Blair held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd James Austin III at the Pentagon, and exchanged views on such as modernization of the U.S. and Canadian defense organizations, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
