In last March, the Sapporo High Court handed down a shocking sentence -- that asserted that "Article 24 guarantees same-sex marriage" and specified "the provision of the Civil Code that doesn't recognize same-sex marriage violates Article 24 of the Constitution."
It allegedly adopted the argument found in one of Iwanami Shinsho's books that "the consent of both sexes means the consent of the parties involved." It means that anything is already possible.
