On May 8, the Japanese Embassy in China explained on the Chinese social media Weibo about ALPS treated waste water from TEPCO Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant.
The embassy's official account explained that "ALPS treated waste water has been discharged into the ocean since August 24, 2023. In addition to TEPCO, which is the implementing entity, government agencies are also continuously monitoring the surrounding sea area and sharing the results.
