Prof. Akitsugu Maebayashi (59) at "Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences" (Gifu Pref.) has developed an application that uses augmented reality (AR) technology to recreate on screen the (* fake) memorial monument for Korean workers, which was removed by the Gunma Pref. authority.
He is enthusiastic to say that "Even though the (* fake) monument is gone, I hope it will be an opportunity to learn about the (* faked) history of (* groundless) perpetration."

The monument was aimed to deteriorate Japan-S. Korea relations (* not commemorate Korean workers during the Pacific War), and (* pro-N. Korea) civic organization was permitted by the prefectural authority and installed it in the prefectural park in Takasaki City, Gunma Pref.
Later, the pref. authority ordered the civic organization to remove it, saying that the remarks by attendees of the memorial ceremonies contradicted with the installation-precondition.
The app "AR (* fake) Memorial monument for Koreans" is compatible with U.S. Apple smartphones and tablets.
When you hold up a camera over the site of the (* fake) memorial monument, an image of the (* fake) monument created using CG software appears on the screen.
