At the UH Committee on financial settlement of accounts on April 1, PM Fumio Kishida avoided to commente on N. Korea, which expressed its policy to reject contact with Japan.
When asked about his way of acceptance of the related statement by Kim Yo Jong, younger sister of General Secretary of the WPK, "Kim Jong-un," he said that "I don't comment on every and each single announcement or remark made by the N. Korean side."

North Korea, which asserts that the abduction issue is already resolved, is displeased by the Prime Minister's stance of aiming for a Japan-N. Korea summit meeting in order for settlement of the issue, and has refused to contact with Japan.
The Prime Minister once again emphasized at the settlement committee that "There are no changes in my intention to proceed with high-level discussions under my direct control in order to realize the mtting."
