> 群馬県が同県高崎市の県立公園から行政代執行で撤去した朝鮮人労働者の追悼碑を巡り、撤去前に在日本韓国大使館が申し入れた山本一太知事との面会に、県側が応じていなかったことが 25日、大使館への取材で分かった。
> 大使館側は解決策を模索したかったとしている。
> 面会は実現せず、追悼碑の撤去は２月２日に完了した。
Over the (* fake) memorial monument for Korean Peninsula native workers -- which the Gunma Pref., authorities removed from a prefectural park in Takasaki City in the Pref., -- on March 25, it turned out via a coverage with the embassy that the pref. side didn't consent to hold a meeting with Gov. Ichita Yamamoto, which was applied by the S. Korean embassy in Japan in prior to the removal.
The embassy side explained to have wanted to seek a solution.
The meeting wasn't realized and the removal of the monument was completed on Feb. 2.

According to the (* S. Korean) embassy, embassy staff visited the prefectural office about a week before the removal-work and requested to set up an opportunity for talks between the embassy and the governor.
It explained that, a few days later, it was contacted from the pref. side saying impossible to consent.
Concerning the removal of the memorial monument, the governor said at a press conference that "I have never been asked to meet officially in any way," etc.
