On Jan. 16, USFJ kicked off the final coordination to participate in the disaster affected areas support of the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
After assessing the weather and local conditions, it will start its activities as early as on that day.
It's forecasted to play a role in transporting supplies that are in short supply in the disaster-stricken areas.

At a press briefing on Jan. 16, vice Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroshi Moriya said that "USFJ can quickly provid self-containment transportation capacity to assist the disaster victims."
USFJ also developed the support activity "Operation Friend" at the time of Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.
