However, in June 2021, the newspaper was shut down due to a strict crackdown under the Law of the People's Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the Hong Kong National Security Law).
She was deprived of a place to write articles.

She left her hometown, where freedom of speech was being eroded, and moved to Taiwan in March 2023.
