> 自衛隊で唯一の落下傘部隊である第1空挺団は、不法占拠された離島を、敵国から奪還するとの想定の約1時間の訓練を公開した。

At the JGSDF Camp Narashino Exercise Area (Funabashi City & Yachiyo City (Chiba Pref.)) on Jan. 7, the Japanese Ground SDF 1st Airborne Brigade conducted the New Year custom "1st parachute training, and around 9,000 citizens watched that.
The JGSDF 1st Airborne Brigade, the only paratrooper of the SDF, opened the around one hour training supposing to recapturing a remote which was illegally occupaid by an enemy country.


> 敵国の制圧を想定した訓練ではまず、上空1800メートルから潜入する部隊の隊員10人がパラシュートを開き、降下。
> その後、地上 340メートル辺りを飛ぶ輸送機から 40人の隊員も次々と降下した。
> ヘリで迫撃砲や車両、隊員を輸送する訓練なども披露された。
> 昨年、米英両国が初参加したのに続き、今年はカナダ、フランス、ドイツ、オランダ、インドネシアの各国軍も加わった。

In the training, which assumed to control the enemy country, 10 members of the infiltrating unit at first opened their parachutes and fell from 1,800m above the ground.
Afterwards, 40 members of the unit fell one after another from a transport plane flying around 340m above the ground.
Training for transporting mortars, vehicle(s) and personnel using helicopters was also demonstrated.
Following last year's first participation by the U.S. & the U.K., this year, Canadian, French, German, Dutch and Indonesian forces participated in it too.

The MoD and the SDF will continuously to our utmost in order for the disaster victims. Even under such circumstances, the national defense remains unwavering. We will resolutely protect the lives and peaceful livelihoods of the nationals."
After that, he said that "You are Japan's treasure. I want you to have a strong sense of mission and work hard on your mission as Japan's No. 1 elite unit."
