「Peddlers Gin」
６月の第2土曜はWorld Gin Dayという事で本日は上海のジンをご紹介。
ペドラーズジンは、中国の最初のジンとして2016年に誕生。
ブランディング、マーケティング担当のジョセフ、蒸留所長のファーガス、販売流通担当のライアンという３人の友人で始動。
Peddlers(行商人)という名前は、商売の町上海の伝統とその生き方を意味します。
ボトルのデザインは1930年代の上海の街からインスピレーションを得たもの。 街のアイデンティティを忠実に守り、その歴史を受け入れ、「上海に忠実であり続ける」という事。
彼らは、中国全土からのボタニカルを調達しました。
ペドラーズジンは四川花椒、仏手柑、イーストアジアンミントを中心に
11のボタニカルを使用。

緑茶、レモングラス、さらには竹も開発段階で考慮されましたが、ブレンドに独自性を追加することはできなかったそうで却下。
不可欠であるジュニパーベリーは、ハンガリーから供給されます。
ジントニックも美味しいですが個人的にはジンリッキーがお勧めです！
もちろん常温ストレートも美味しいです！
ギムレットはまだトライしていませんがきっと美味しいと思います！

Peddlers Gin was born in 2016 as China's first gin.
Started with 3 friends: Branding, marketing director Joseph, Distillery director Fergus, and sales distributor Ryan.
The name Peddlers means the tradition of the business town Shanghai and its way of life.
The bottle design was inspired by the city of Shanghai in the 1930s. Faithful to the identity of the city, to accept its history, "become faithful to Shanghai".
They procured botanicals from all over China.
Peddlers Gin focuses on Sichuan Pepper, Buddha’s hand, East Asian mints
Use 11 botanicals.

Juniper
East Asian Mint
Buddha’s Hand
Sichuan Pepper
Cubeb berry
Chinese Cassia
Coriander seeds
Lotus flower
Orris root
Green tea, lemongrass, and even bamboo were considered during the development stage, but rejected because they could not add their uniqueness to the blend.
The essential juniper berries are sourced from Hungary.
