2 “Speak to Aaron and tell him, ‘When you light up the lamps, the seven lamps should shine on the area in front of the lampstand.’”

3 So Aaron did this: He lit up its lamps for the area in front of the lampstand, just as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

4 This is how the lampstand was made: It was hammered work of gold; from its stem to its blossoms, it was hammered work. The lampstand was made according to the vision that Jehovah had shown Moses.
4 Now this workmanship of the lampstand was hammered gold; from its shaft to its flowers it was hammered work. According to the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.

4 This is how the lampstand was made: It was made of hammered gold—from its base to its blossoms. The lampstand was made exactly like the pattern the LORD had shown Moses.

7 This is how you should cleanse them: Sprinkle sin-cleansing water on them, and they must shave their whole body with a razor, wash their garments, and cleanse themselves.
7 “Thus you shall do to them to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purification on them, and let them shave all their body, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
7 “Thus you shall do to them, for their cleansing: sprinkle purifying water on them, and let them use a razor over their whole body and wash their clothes, and they will be clean.
7 To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes. And so they will purify themselves.

8 Then they will take a young bull and its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you will take another young bull for a sin offering.

8 “Then let them take a bull with its grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil; and a second bull you shall take for a sin offering.

9 And you are to present the Levites before the tent of meeting and gather all the assembly of the Israelites.

9 “So you shall present the Levites before the tent of meeting. You shall also assemble the whole congregation of the sons of Israel,
9 Bring the Levites to the front of the tent of meeting and assemble the whole Israelite community.

10 When you present the Levites before Jehovah, the Israelites are to lay their hands on the Levites.
10 “So you shall bring the Levites before the LORD, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites;
10 and present the Levites before the LORD; and the sons of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites.
10 You are to bring the Levites before the LORD, and the Israelites are to lay their hands on them.

11次いでアロンは，レビ人をイスラエルの子らからの振揺の捧げ物としてエホバの前に揺り動かすように。こうして彼らはエホバへの奉仕を行なう者となるのである。
11そしてアロンは、レビびとをイスラエルの人々のささげる揺祭として、主の前にささげなければならない。これは彼らに主の務をさせるためである。

11 And Aaron must offer the Levites before Jehovah as a wave offering from the Israelites, and they will carry out the service of Jehovah.
11 “and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD, like a wave offering from the children of Israel, that they may perform the work of the LORD.
11 “Aaron then shall present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the sons of Israel, that they may qualify to perform the service of the LORD.
11 Aaron is to present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the LORD.

12「次いでレビ人は手をそれらの雄牛の頭の上に置く。その後，一方を罪の捧げ物，他方を焼燔の捧げ物としてエホバにささげ，レビ人のために贖罪を行なうように。

12 “Then the Levites will lay their hands on the heads of the bulls and offer the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to Jehovah to make atonement for the Levites.
12 “Then the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the young bulls, and you shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
12 “Now the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls; then offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
12 “Then the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, using one for a sin offering to the LORD and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for the Levites.

13そしてあなたはレビ人をアロンとその子らの前に立たせ，エホバへの振揺の捧げ物として彼らを揺り動かさねばならない。

13 And you will have the Levites stand before Aaron and his sons and offer them as a wave offering to Jehovah.

13 “You shall have the Levites stand before Aaron and before his sons so as to present them as a wave offering to the LORD.
13 Have the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons and then present them as a wave offering to the LORD.

14こうしてあなたはレビ人をイスラエルの子らの中から取り分け，レビ人はわたしのものとなるのである。
14こうして、あなたはレビびとをイスラエルの人々のうちから分かち、レビびとをわたしのものとしなければならない。

14 You must separate the Levites from among the Israelites, and the Levites will become mine.
14 “Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be Mine.
14 “Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the sons of Israel, and the Levites shall be Mine.
14 In this way you are to set the Levites apart from the other Israelites, and the Levites will be mine.

15そうして後，レビ人は中に入って会見の天幕で奉仕を行なう。それであなたは彼らを清め，振揺の捧げ物として彼らを揺り動かさねばならない。
15こうして後レビびとは会見の幕屋にはいって務につくことができる。あなたは彼らを清め、彼らをささげて揺祭としなければならない。

15 Afterward, the Levites will come in to serve at the tent of meeting. This is how you should cleanse them and offer them as a wave offering.
15 “After that the Levites shall go in to service the tabernacle of meeting. So you shall cleanse them and offer them, like a wave offering.
15 “Then after that the Levites may go in to serve the tent of meeting. But you shall cleanse them and present them as a wave offering;
15 “After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering, they are to come to do their work at the tent of meeting.

16彼らは与えられた者，イスラエルの子らの中からわたしに与えられた者たちなのである。すべて胎を開く者，すなわちイスラエルの子らの中のすべての初子の代わりとして，わたしは彼らを自分のために取らねばならない。

16 For they are given ones, given to me from among the Israelites. In place of all those who are firstborn of the Israelites, I will take them for myself.
16 “For they are wholly given to Me from among the children of Israel; I have taken them for Myself instead of all who open the womb, the firstborn of all the children of Israel.
16 for they are wholly given to Me from among the sons of Israel. I have taken them for Myself instead of every first issue of the womb, the firstborn of all the sons of Israel.
16They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn, the first male offspring from every Israelite woman.

17イスラエルの子らのうちの初子は，人についても獣についても，すべてわたしのものだからである。エジプトの地のすべての初子を打った日に，わたしはこれを自分のために神聖なものとして取り分けたからである。
17イスラエルの人々のうちのういごは、人も獣も、みなわたしのものだからである。わたしはエジプトの地で、すべてのういごを撃ち殺した日に、彼らを聖別してわたしのものとした。

17 For every firstborn among the Israelites is mine, both man and animal. I sanctified them to myself on the day I struck down every firstborn in the land of Egypt.
17 “For all the firstborn among the children of Israel are Mine, both man and beast; on the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them to Myself.
17 “For every firstborn among the sons of Israel is Mine, among the men and among the animals; on the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself.
17 Every firstborn male in Israel, whether human or animal, is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself.

18それでわたしはレビ人を取って，イスラエルの子らのうちのすべての初子の代わりとする。
18それでわたしはイスラエルの人々のうちの、すべてのういごの代りにレビびとを取った。

18 I will take the Levites in place of all the firstborn among the Israelites.
18 “I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn of the children of Israel.
18 “But I have taken the Levites instead of every firstborn among the sons of Israel.
18 And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons in Israel.

19そしてわたしは，イスラエルの子らの中から与えられたものとしてレビ人をアロンとその子らとに与え，会見の天幕においてイスラエルの子らのための奉仕を行なわせ，イスラエルの子らのために贖罪を行なわせる。イスラエルの子らが聖なる場所に近づき，それによってイスラエルの子らの間に災厄が起きることのないためである」。
19わたしはイスラエルの人々のうちからレビびとを取って、アロンとその子たちに与え、彼らに会見の幕屋で、イスラエルの人々に代って務をさせ、またイスラエルの人々のために罪のあがないをさせるであろう。これはイスラエルの人々が、聖所に近づいて、イスラエルの人々のうちに災の起ることのないようにするためである」。

19 I will give the Levites as given ones to Aaron and his sons from among the Israelites, to carry out the service in behalf of the Israelites at the tent of meeting and to make atonement for the Israelites, so that no plague may occur among the Israelites because the people of Israel come near the holy place.”
19 “And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the work for the children of Israel in the tabernacle of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near the sanctuary.”
19 “I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the sons of Israel, to perform the service of the sons of Israel at the tent of meeting and to make atonement on behalf of the sons of Israel, so that there will be no plague among the sons of Israel by their coming near to the sanctuary.”
19 From among all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the tent of meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary.”

20それで，モーセとアロンおよびイスラエルの子らの集会の全員は，レビ人に対してそのようにしていった。すべてエホバがレビ人に関してモーセに命じたところにしたがい，イスラエルの子らは彼らにそのとおりに行なった。

20 Moses and Aaron and all the assembly of the Israelites did this with the Levites. In accord with all that Jehovah had commanded Moses regarding the Levites, that is what the Israelites did with them.
20 Thus Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel did to the Levites; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the children of Israel did to them.
20 Thus did Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the sons of Israel to the Levites; according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the sons of Israel did to them.
20 Moses, Aaron and the whole Israelite community did with the Levites just as the LORD commanded Moses.

21それでレビ人は身を浄めて自分の衣を洗い，その後アロンは振揺の捧げ物として彼らをエホバの前に揺り動かした。次いでアロンは彼らのために贖罪を行なってこれを清めた。

21 So the Levites purified themselves and washed their garments, after which Aaron offered them as a wave offering before Jehovah. Then Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.
21 And the Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes; then Aaron presented them, like a wave offering before the LORD, and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.
21 The Levites, too, purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes; and Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the LORD. Aaron also made atonement for them to cleanse them.
21 The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes. Then Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the LORD and made atonement for them to purify them.

22そののち初めてレビ人は中に入り，会見の天幕の中，アロンとその子らの前で自分たちの奉仕を行なった。レビ人についてエホバがモーセに命じたところにしたがい，そのとおりに彼らは[レビ人]に行なった。
22こうして後、レビびとは会見の幕屋にはいって、アロンとその子たちに仕えて務をした。すなわち、彼らはレビびとの事について、主がモーセに命じられた所にしたがって、そのように彼らに行った。

22 Thereafter, the Levites went in to carry out their service at the tent of meeting before Aaron and his sons. Just as Jehovah had commanded Moses respecting the Levites, so they did with them.
22 After that the Levites went in to do their work in the tabernacle of meeting before Aaron and his sons; as the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
22 Then after that the Levites went in to perform their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron and before his sons; just as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
22 After that, the Levites came to do their work at the tent of meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the LORD commanded Moses.

24「これがレビ人に対して適用される。すなわち，二十五歳以上の者が来て，会見の天幕における奉仕の隊伍に入る。
24「レビびとは次のようにしなければならない。すなわち、二十五歳以上の者は務につき、会見の幕屋の働きをしなければならない。
24「これはレビ人に関することである。二十五歳以上の者は会見の天幕の奉仕の務めを果たさなければならない。
24 “This applies to the Levites: From 25 years old and up, a man will join the company of those in the service of the tent of meeting.
24 “This is what pertains to the Levites: From twenty-five years old and above one may enter to perform service in the work of the tabernacle of meeting;
24 “This is what applies to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall enter to perform service in the work of the tent of meeting.
24 “This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting,

25しかし，五十歳を過ぎた後は，奉仕の隊伍から退き，もはや奉仕を行なわない。

25 But after the age of 50 years, he will retire from the service company and not serve any longer.
25 “and at the age of fifty years they must cease performing this work, and shall work no more.

26そしてその者は，務めを守る点で会見の天幕にあって自分の兄弟たちに仕えることになるが，奉仕を行なってはならない。あなたはレビ人の務めに関して彼らにこのとおりに行なう」。
26ただ、会見の幕屋でその兄弟たちの務の助けをすることができる。しかし、務をしてはならない。あなたがレビびとにその務をさせるには、このようにしなければならない」。

26 He may minister to his brothers who are taking care of the responsibilities at the tent of meeting, but he must not perform the service there. This is what you are to do regarding the Levites and their responsibilities.”
26 “They may minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of meeting, to attend to needs, but they themselves shall do no work. Thus you shall do to the Levites regarding their duties.”
26 “They may, however, assist their brothers in the tent of meeting, to keep an obligation, but they themselves shall do no work. Thus you shall deal with the Levites concerning their obligations.”
26 They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the tent of meeting, but they themselves must not do the work. This, then, is how you are to assign the responsibilities of the Levites.”
