31そしてわたしはまさにあなた方の都市を剣に渡し，あなた方の聖なる所を荒廃に至らせる。あなた方の安らぎの香りもかがない。

31 I will give your cities to the sword and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell the pleasing aromas of your sacrifices.
31 I will lay your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the fragrance of your sweet aromas.
31 ‘I will lay waste your cities as well and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your soothing aromas.
31 I will turn your cities into ruins and lay waste your sanctuaries, and I will take no delight in the pleasing aroma of your offerings.

32こうしてわたしはその地を荒廃に至らせる。そこに住むあなた方の敵たちはただ驚いて見つめるであろう。
32わたしがその地を荒らすゆえ、そこに住むあなたがたの敵はそれを見て驚くであろう。

32 I myself will make the land desolate, and your enemies who are dwelling in it will stare in amazement over it.
32 I will bring the land to desolation, and your enemies who dwell in it shall be astonished at it.
32 ‘I will make the land desolate so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled over it.
32 I myself will lay waste the land, so that your enemies who live there will be appalled.

33そしてわたしはあなた方を諸国民の中に散らし，あなた方の後ろで剣のさやを払う。あなた方の土地は必ず荒廃したところとなり，あなた方の都市は廃虚となる。
33わたしはあなたがたを国々の間に散らし、つるぎを抜いて、あなたがたの後を追うであろう。あなたがたの地は荒れ果て、あなたがたの町々は荒れ地となるであろう。

33 And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you; and your land will be made desolate, and your cities will be devastated.
33 I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you;
your land shall be desolate and your cities waste.
33 ‘You, however, I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste.
33 I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins.

34「『その時，荒廃しているその期間中ずっと，すなわちあなた方が敵の地にいる間に，その地は安息を払い終えるであろう。その時，その地は安息を守る。それは自らの安息を返済するのである。

34 “‘At that time the land will pay off its sabbaths all the days it lies desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will rest, as it must repay its sabbaths.
34 Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land;
then the land shall rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
34 ‘Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies’ land; then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
34 Then the land will enjoy its sabbath years all the time that it lies desolate and you are in the country of your enemies; then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

35 All the days it lies desolate it will rest, because it did not rest during your sabbaths when you were dwelling on it.
35 As long as it lies desolate it shall rest—
for the time it did not rest on your sabbaths when you dwelt in it.
35 ‘All the days of its desolation it will observe the rest which it did not observe on your sabbaths, while you were living on it.
35 All the time that it lies desolate, the land will have the rest it did not have during the sabbaths you lived in it.

36「『あなた方のうちの残る者たちについては，わたしは必ずその敵の地で彼らの心の中におじ気を入れる。吹き散らされる木の葉の音さえ彼らを追い立て，だれひとり追う者もいないのに，彼らは剣から逃げる者のように逃げて行って倒れる。
36またあなたがたのうちの残っている者の心に、敵の国でわたしは恐れをいだかせるであろう。彼らは木の葉の動く音にも驚いて逃げ、つるぎを避けて逃げる者のように逃げて、追う者もないのにころび倒れるであろう。

36 “‘As for those who survive, I will fill their hearts with despair in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a blowing leaf will cause them to flee, and they will flee like someone running from the sword and fall without anyone pursuing them.
36 ‘And as for those of you who are left, I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies;
the sound of a shaken leaf shall cause them to flee;
they shall flee as though fleeing from a sword, and they shall fall when no one pursues.
36 ‘As for those of you who may be left, I will also bring weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee as though from the sword, and they will fall.
36 “ ‘As for those of you who are left, I will make their hearts so fearful in the lands of their enemies that the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. They will run as though fleeing from the sword, and they will fall, even though no one is pursuing them.

37また，だれひとり追う者もいないのに，彼らは剣の前から[逃げる]者のようにして互いにつまずく。あなた方は敵に立ち向かう力がなくなる。

37 They will stumble over one another like those running from a sword, though no one is pursuing them. You will not be able to resist your enemies.
37 They shall stumble over one another, as it were before a sword, when no one pursues;
and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
37 ‘They will therefore stumble over each other as if running from the sword, although no one is pursuing; and you will have no strength to stand up before your enemies.
37 They will stumble over one another as though fleeing from the sword, even though no one is pursuing them. So you will not be able to stand before your enemies.

38こうしてあなた方はまさしく諸国民の間で滅び，敵の地があなた方を食い尽くす。
38あなたがたは国々のうちにあって滅びうせ、あなたがたの敵の地はあなたがたをのみつくすであろう。
38あなたがたは国々の間で滅び、あなたの敵の地はあなたがたを食い尽くす。
38 You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will consume you.
38 You shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
38 ‘But you will perish among the nations, and your enemies’ land will consume you.
38 You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will devour you.

39あなた方のうちの残る者たち，その者たちも自らのとがのために敵の地で朽ち果てる。実に，父たちのとがのために[父]たちと共に朽ち果てるのである。

39 Those of you who remain will be left to rot in the lands of your enemies because of your error. Yes, they will rot away because of the errors of their fathers.
39 And those of you who are left shall waste away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands;
also in their fathers’ iniquities, which are with them, they shall waste away.
39 ‘So those of you who may be left will rot away because of their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the iniquities of their forefathers they will rot away with them.
39 Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their ancestors’ sins they will waste away.
40

40 Then they will confess their own error and the error and unfaithfulness of their fathers and admit that they behaved unfaithfully by walking in opposition to me.
40 ‘But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,
40 ‘If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me—
40 “ ‘But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me,

41それでもわたしとしては，彼らに逆らって歩み，彼らをその敵の地に携え入れねばならなかったのである。

41 Then I also walked in opposition to them by bringing them into the land of their enemies. “’Perhaps then their uncircumcised heart will be humbled, and then they will pay off their error.
41 and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies;
if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—
41 I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies—or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled so that they then make amends for their iniquity,
41 which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin,
42
42そしてわたしもヤコブに対する自分の契約を思い出すのである。イサクに対するわたしの契約を，アブラハムに対するわたしの契約を思い出すであろう。また，その土地のことを思い出す。

42 And I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and my covenant with Isaac, and I will remember my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

42 then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.
42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

43 While the land was abandoned by them, it was paying off its sabbaths and lying desolate without them, and they were paying for their error, because they rejected my judicial decisions and they abhorred my statutes.
43 The land also shall be left empty by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them;
they will accept their guilt, because they despised My judgments and because their soul abhorred My statutes.
43 ‘For the land will be abandoned by them, and will make up for its sabbaths while it is made desolate without them. They, meanwhile, will be making amends for their iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and their soul abhorred My statutes.
43 For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.
44

44 But despite all of this, while they are in the land of their enemies, I will never completely reject them nor cast them away to the point of exterminating them, which would violate my covenant with them, for I am Jehovah their God.
44 Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, nor shall I abhor them, to utterly destroy them and break My covenant with them;
for I am the LORD their God.
44 ‘Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so abhor them as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God.
44 Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them. I am the LORD their God.

45そしてわたしは彼らのためにその先祖たちとの契約を思い出す。わたしはその神となるため，諸国民の見るところで彼らをエジプトの地から携え出した。わたしはエホバである』」。

45 For their sakes I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of the land of Egypt under the eyes of the nations, in order to prove myself their God. I am Jehovah.’”
45 But for their sake I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God:
I am the LORD.’ ”
45 ‘But I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the LORD.’”
45 But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the LORD.’ ”

46 These are the regulations, the judicial decisions, and the laws that Jehovah established between himself and the Israelites on Mount Siʹnai through Moses.
46 These are the statutes and judgments and laws which the LORD made between Himself and the children of Israel on Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
46 These are the statutes and ordinances and laws which the LORD established between Himself and the sons of Israel through Moses at Mount Sinai.
46 These are the decrees, the laws and the regulations that the LORD established at Mount Sinai between himself and the Israelites through Moses.
