A major incident!
I discovered that about half of the medaka fish that had overwintered outdoors had died. I had been raising them with such care. I had just moved them to a new tank this spring. I suspect that the small amount of akadama soil I added to the tank to stabilize the water quality was the problem. I hastily moved the healthy medaka to a bucket and washed the tank.
