How are you spending your golden week
(long weekend in Japan)?

皆さんは、ゴールデンウィークをどのようにお過ごしの予定でしょうか。

It's been a long time 
since I last spent my golden week in Okinawa. 
At the request of the Okinawa governor Denny Tamaki,
I'm planing to do "STAY HOME" mostly for the special golden week.

私は、久しぶりに沖縄でゴールデンウィークを過ごします。

今回のゴールデンウィークは特別で、私も

玉城デニー沖縄県知事のお願いの元、

「STAY　HOME」で基本的に過ごす予定です。

As a tourism ambassador for Naha city,
I am in a position to recommend the visits to Naha and Okinawa,
however, I have a request for you today.

私は、那覇観光大使として本来ならば皆さまに、

那覇や沖縄観光などをお勧めする立場ではありますが、

今日は、皆さまにお願いがあります。

Denny Tamaki, the governor of Okinawa prefecture, 
is also calling, to prevent the spread of new coronavirus 
infection in Okinawa, the tourist destinations, 
beach and entertainment facilities are closed.
Also for Okinawan citizens,
the current situation is calling for refraining 
from going from the central and south areas 
to the northern part of Okinawa.

玉城デニー沖縄県知事も呼びかけをしていますが、

沖縄でも新型コロナウイルス感染拡大防止の為、

観光施設やビーチ、娯楽施設は閉鎖されています。

県民に対しても、

沖縄の中南部から北部に行くことに自粛を呼び掛けている現状です。

In addition, many restaurants are currently closed.

また、現在、飲食店なども自粛しているところが多くあります。

There are about 40 beds for paitients with infectious disease 
on the main island of Okinawa, 
it's even less at remote islands.
In Ishigaki and Miyako, there are only three beds, 
which is the current medical situation in Okinawa.

沖縄本島では、感染症病床が４０床程しかありませんし、

離島になるとさらに少なくなり

石垣や宮古では、３床ずつしかないという沖縄の医療実態です。

The current number of infected people in Okinawa is 138.
Even today, medical facilities in Okinawa are over their capacity.

しかし、現在の沖縄の感染者数は、１３８名にもなっています。

現在でも、沖縄の医療現場は、キャパをオーバーしている状態です。

Therefore, I would like to ask all of you to "STAY HOME".

その為、皆さんには、「STAY　HOME」を強くお願いしたいです。

Even if you visit Okinawa right now, 
I'm afraid we cannot provide good hospitality for you
so that you can go back with good memories.
Once the new coronavirus is over, 
I think that people in Okinawa can welcome you 
in a way that you will be satisfied with.

また、今、沖縄にいらしても、十分なおもてなしが受けられない状況ですので

良い思い出もつくることが出来ないと思います。

しかし、新型コロナウイルスが終息した後には、皆さんが満足するかたちで

沖縄県民がお迎えできると思います。

Until then, let's continue to end the new coronavirus 
with "STAY HOME", let's do our best together!

それまでは引き続き、「STAY　HOME」で新型コロナウイルス終息に向けて

皆で頑張りましょう！
