people have decided to renovate the existing cathedral.

被害を受けた大聖堂。
9年経った今も変わらないまま…
新しく建て直すのか
この大聖堂を活かしながら建て直すのか
話し合いの末に
今ある大聖堂を
活かしながら建て直しを選択したようです。

世界各国の被災地で建設してきた
日本人の坂茂氏が仮大聖堂も手掛けたそうです。

沢山の椅子も紙。
屋根は透明なプラスチックで覆われていて
ガラスは地震の時に壊れたガラスを
リサイクルして使っているようです。
夜に電気が点くと
鮮やかに輝き綺麗みたいですよ。
