It is cultivated on a large scale as the main production area for plums in Tokushima Prefecture.(The largest scale in Shikoku)
徳島県下の梅の主産地として栽培規模が大きいです。(四国最大規模)
For this reason, the plum grove that blooms all at once in early spring is spectacular.
この為、春先に一斉に開花する梅林には見ごたえがあります。
Approximately 16,000 plum trees bloom on the site of approximately 30ha, and the surrounding mountains are dyed in light pink.
約30haの敷地には、約1万6千本の梅が咲き、周囲の山々一面がライトピンクに染まります。

【青いダイヤと神山ルビィ】
Kamiyama plums boast the highest production in Shikoku. It used to be called "blue diamond", but in recent years it has been facing problems such as a decrease in production and a shortage of successors.
神山の梅は、四国随一の生産量を誇っています。かつては、「青いダイヤ」とも称されたほどですが、近年は生産量の低下や後継者の不足といった課題を抱えています。

On the other hand, Umeboshi pickled in Kamiyama is a traditional Suppai Umeboshi pickled only with salt and shiso, which has a salt concentration of about 16%.
一方で、神山で漬けられる梅干しは、塩分濃度が約16％の、塩と紫蘇だけで漬けられた昔ながらのスッパイ梅干しです。

This is the method of pickling that was once decided by all the plum farmers in Kamiyama. The members of the Kamiyama-cho area revitalization cooperation team (graduates) named this umeboshi "Kamiyama Ruby" and have been promoting it since 2013.
これは、かつて神山の梅農家さんたちが皆で決めた漬け方だそうです。この梅干しを、神山町の地域おこし協力隊（卒業生）の方達は、「神山ルビィ」と名付け、平成25年からＰＲを行ってこられているそうです。
