After getting out of their car, Prince William and Kate split up; with Kate meeting people waiting on the left side and Prince William meeting people on the right side, before they joined up again to walk over to the waiting helicopter. Kate stopped to stroke somebody's dog. She was also given a drawing and a man gave her a boomerang as a gift. There were stunned expressions on children's faces as they met the visiting royalty.Kate gave a thumbs-up to a pilot before getting on board the helicopter.
