from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency SITIAWAN, April 3 (Bernama) -- Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir will look into the necessary action to be taken against Suara Keadilan publication after it published an apology over its article entitled "Zambry Disyaki Pengganas-Gagal Masuk ke Amerika Syarikat".
The article stated, among others, that Dr Zambry was hauled up at the San Francisco Airport in the United States (US) when his name was found among those Paris Hilton Watches listed in the terrorist data base.
The apology was made by the Suara Keadilan editorial board on its March 30- April 6, 2010 issue.
"I was made to understand that they have taken an effort to straighten things up (apology) when they realised that the report about me published in the newspaper on Dec 29, last year was indeed not true.
"As such, I will Thomas sabo charms inform my lawyers on the next course of action to be taken," he told reporters after opening the "Juara Rakyat Bersama Agensi Kerajaan" programme organised by Lumut Umno here today.
Zambry also described the report as an irresponsible lie because he was never arrested in the US.
On Feb 25, the Menteri Besar filed a RM100 million defamation suit against Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and three others over the article.
The three others named as defendants were PKR deputy president Dr Syed Husin Ali, who is also Suara Keadilan Rotary Fake chief editor, the publisher of the newspaper Pelita Koridor Sdn Bhd and the printer Percetakan NPK Sdn Bhd.
In the statement of claim, Zambry said he was not denied entry into the US and did in fact enter the country and was duly accorded recognition of his status as the Perak MB.
He said his visit to the US was widely reported in the media and the defendants had intentionally published the defamatory words.
