本文を少し載せますとこんな感じです。上の２行の"butter", "flutter"と下の２行の"slam", "jam"がそれぞれrhymeしているのです。全ページがこのようにrhymeしているので、rhymeしている分英単語の難しいものが使われていますが、リズム良く読めてなかなか楽しい一冊です A truck drew up and dumped out butter, And they spread it out with a flap and a flutter. Spoons and spades! Slap and slam! And they did the same with the strawberry jam.

２冊目です。こちらは、「謎の死」を遂げたある女性の「本当にあった話」ということで興味を持ち読んでみました。しかし、本当に謎すぎてもやもや感の残る結末でした。謎だから仕方がないのですけれども、どうにもすっきりしないラストでした でも、安全管理の徹底されていない放射能関連の工場で働いていたKarenがそれを訴えようと証拠をひそかに集めていた最中のまさかの交通事故死ということで、その経過はとても興味深かったです。その証拠が入っていた封筒もKarenの運転していた車の中にあったはずなのに、事故後見つかることはなかったということも、興味深い事実です。 The Death of Karen Silkwood (Oxford Bookworms S.../Joyce Hannam ￥648 Amazon.co.jp YL 2.6 総語数 5,597 ページ数 39 評価 ○ This is the story of Karen. そして、私が気に入っているのはこの本の最後についている"~Extra~ Fan Activities!"です。 今回は、"owl"と"train"についての説明が付いていました。他にも料理とかPuzzleとかも付いていました。 ちょっとだけ引用します。
・owについて Owls live all over the world. They live in forests, grasslands, and deserts. The snowy owl lives in the Arctic! Owls can see during the day. They close their eyes halfway to block out bright light. That makes them look sleepy even when they're wide awake.
「ばっちり起きている」が"wide awake"で表現されるのね、と思った文章です。

Mr. Higgins thought, "How do I know which clock is right?" という文章が出てくるのですが、「どうすればいいのか良く分からなかった」とか「どれを選べばいいのか難しい」と言いたい時、日本語ではすらすら出てくるのに（まぁ、日本人だから当たり前なんだけどね）、英語にすると言えない・詰まるのはなぜですかね。慣れていないのでしょうね…
２月号のラジオ英会話のSpecial Weekで出てきた文章です。 "Officials hope to reduce conflicts between the animals and humans, once they determine where the elephants feed and which farms are most at risk of being invaded." 関係職員たちは、象がどこで食べ、どの農場が侵入されるリスクが最大であるかを特定できれば、象と人間の衝突を減らすことができるものと期待しています。
こちらは、"Arthur's tooth"と同じシリーズの本です。
なんてこともありますので、挿絵をちら見してから読むといいです。以前に読んだ
絵の好みってやはりはっきり出ますので、重要なチェック事項ですね((φ(･д･｡)ﾎｫﾎｫ
