10月に、地元の宗像市で新しい経験がたくさんあった。
In October, I experienced a lot of firsts in my city of Munakata.
宗像市民に愛されている[みあれ祭] を初めて見た。
I saw the Miare Festival, a festival that is loved by the people of Munakata, for the first time.
1年に一回、宗像大社で祀られている三女神が集まる。
The three goddesses enshrined in three Munakata Taisha, are reunited once a year at this festival.
みあれ祭。
The goddess Tagorihime, enshrined in Okitsmiya on the sacred island of Okinoshima.
大島の中津宮で祀られている湍津姫神(タギツヒメ)
The goddess Tagitsuhime enshrined at Nakatsimiya on the island of Oshima.
本土の辺宮で祀られている市杵島姫姫(イチキシマヒメ)
And the goddess Ichikishimahime, enshrined atHetsumiya on the mainland in Munakata.
女神の御分霊が入っている御神輿。神職が大島までお迎えに行って、田心姫神と湍津姫神を御座船で本土に連れて行く。本土で妹の市杵島姫との再会。
Shinto priests from Munakata Taisha go meet Tagorihime and Tagitsuhime, and transport them to the mainland on a majestic boat to reunite with their sister.
日本書紀に出てくる宗像三女神、そして、このみあれ祭は宗像市民にとってとても大事。
The story of these three goddesses, who appear in the Nihon Shoki is very important to the people of Munakata.
私の初めてみあれ祭。行ってよかった！宗像市民でよかった！と思った。
It was the first time I ever saw it. It was totally majestic and made me proud to be a citizen ofMunakata.

そして、先週、ずっと見たかった沖ノ島がやっと見れた。
And last week, I was finally able to lay my eyes on the island of Okinoshima. I had wanted to see it for a long time.
2017年に、[神宿る島•宗像沖ノ島と関連遺産群] が世界遺産に登録された。
In 2017, the sacred island of Okinoshima and related sites were registered as UNESCO WorldHeritage Sites.
島自体は、神様だから神職以外の方は上陸することができない。
Because the island itself is a god, only Shinto priests are allowed to set foot on it.
そして、九州本土から60キロ離れているため、本土からなかなか見れない。
And because it’s located 60 kilometers off the coast of the mainland, it’s hard to see unless it’s a crystal clear day.
やっと見れた。
沖ノ島。
先週、むなかた応援大使の私は、宗像の中学生と一緒に船に乗って沖ノ島を見に行った。
So last week I joined junior high kids from Munakata for a cruise around Okinoshima.
初めてこの目で沖ノ島。
It was the first time I had ever seen it.
とにかく、感動した。そして、改めて宗像市民でよかったなあ、と思った。
I was both impressed and moved. And once again, I was proud to be a citizen of Munakata.

人間は、ずっと自分の居場所を探している。私は日本で、そして宗像市で、その居場所をやっと見つけた。
I think people are always searching for the place they belong, the place where they truly fit it.I have finally found that in Japan, and in my beloved city of Munakata.
ずっとここに住みたい。そして、人生が終わったら、ここで骨をうずめたい。
I want to live here forever. And when my life is done, I want to be buried here too.
