今日は、福岡でやっと梅雨が開けた。
Rainy season is finally over in Fukuoka.
やけん、セミはバリ元気で鳴きよる。
So the cicadas are chirping like crazy.
アメリカでは、セミを見たことがない。
I’ve never seen a cicada in the U.S.
実は、日本に来る前、cicadaという単語も聞いたことがなかった。
In fact, I’d never even heard the English word “cicada” until coming to Japan.
そして、最近、セミはアメリカにいることもわかった。
But it seems they can be found in the U.S. after all.
でも、日本のセミとの活躍の仕方は、全然違うみたい。
But they are nothing like Japanese cicadas.
