若い頃はテニスばっかりやっていました。中学校で軟式テニスから始めて、高校で公式に転向。大学も体育会でバリバリやった後、社会人になってからもやってましたねぇ。その頃はテニスがすごい楽しかったのです。でもある時、もういいかなと、十分やったと。Boy1がお腹にできた頃、ピタッと辞めたのです。
When I was young, I played tennis a lot. I started playing soft tennis when I was in junior high school and changed to normal tennis in high school. I continued playing in my university years and also after I started working. It was really fun to play at that time, but at some point, I thought, it is enough. I stopped playing around the time when I got pregnant of Boy1.
オランダに来てからも、テニスをまたしようとは全く思わなかったんです。そんな私が数年前、面白いご縁がきっかけでまたテニスを始めたのですよ。この面白いきっかけについてはまた後日書こうかと思います。
After I moved to the Netherlands, I never thought about playing tennis again. But actually I restarted tennis a few years ago after an interesting meeting. But I will write about the story some other time.
再びテニスを始めてから、すっかり落ちてしまった体力を回復する目的も兼ねて、徐々に頻度を増やしてきました。週一のレッスンから始め、今年はトーナメントやリーグ戦にも参加し始めました。頻度が増えるともちろんラケットへの負担も大きく、先週木曜日の夜のレッスンの始め、気持ちよくボールを打っていたら、バチン！とガットが切れたのです。次の日金曜日の夜と土曜日の朝にはリーグ戦が控えています。金曜日はもちろん仕事。。スポーツ店に行く暇などないのです。
After I had re-started playing tennis, I gradually increased the frequency of my playing to get better physical strength which I completely lost during my no sport life. I am taking lessons and started joining all kinds of competitions and tounaments this year. Due to the frequency increase, my racket was of course used a lot, and the string broke during my lesson last Thursday night. I had competition games planned on Friday night and Saturday morning. And I need to work on Friday of course. No time to go to the sport shop...
幸運？なことに金曜日の試合は悪天候のためキャンセルになりました。時間ができたので、仕事後閉店直前に近所のスポーツ店に駆け込みました。
Fortunately the Friday game was cancelled due to the bad weather. I went to a sportshop in my neighbourhood after work just before closing time.

えっと、実は明日の朝。。でも間に合わないのは十分承知です。明日は誰かのラケットを借りるので、明日の夕方にでも取りにこさせてもらえるといいのですが。
Ehm.... acutally tomorrow morning. I know it is not possible to have it on time. I will borrow someone's racket for my match and will come to pick it up tomorrow late afternoon.

夕食を終えて、家でリラックスしていると、玄関のベルが鳴りました。ドアを開けると、あの店員さんが新しいガットが張られたラケットを私に渡し、一言。明日、頑張って！

信じられない。めっちゃいい人。この国でこのサービスは全く期待していませんでした（日本ですらないかも）。超感動！私は一生あの店のお客さんであり続けるわ、と誓ったできことでした。
Unbelievable. Such a nice guy. I never expected this service in this country (Maybe not even in Japan). I was really impressed and I am sure I will use this shop again in the future!
