冬が来た！ここ数年は割とマイルドな天候だったここオランダ。先週末からいきなり本格的な冬がやってきたのです。気温は突然２−３度からマイナス4−５度に下がりました。それと同時にこの寒波は雪嵐をも運んできたのです。
Winter has come. It has been quite mild weather for some years here in the Netherlands. But suddenly the real winter showed up from the last weekend. The temperature abruptly dropped from 2,3 degrees to minus 4 or 5 degrees. And the cold snap also brought a snow storm this time.
この雪、典型的なパウダースノー。しかもめちゃめちゃ風が強い！ということで、雪は風の吹き止まりに高く積もり、風が通るところにはほとんど積もらないという珍しい光景。
The snow we got this time is typical powder snow and it was very windy. So the snow piled up at the deadend of the wind and the place where wind go through didn't get so much.

昨日は雪だるまを作ろうと頑張ってみました。雪だるま、大阪出身の日本人の夢ってとこでしょうか。でもこのパウダースノー、雪はほとんど固まらず、子供達の体が冷え切り、諦めざるを得ませんでした（左下の写真）。でも今日、子供達とDropで素晴らしいのを作りました！（右下の写真）Dropによると、これができるまでに試行錯誤を繰り返したそう。この氷点下の気温のおかげで、この雪だるまは長いこと立っていることができるでしょう。＾＾
Yesterday I tried to make a snowman. This is a kind of dream for a Japanese woman from warm Osaka. But because of this powdery snow, it was too difficult and we gave up when the children got too cold (left picture). But today, children and Drop made a beautiful one! (right picture). Apparently it took quite some attempts before achieving this, according to Drop. Thanks to the minus temperature, this snowman will survive for some time.
はい。私はこの雪だるま作りには参加してないのです。何でかって？会社に行っていたのですよ。私、今日生まれて初めての雪道ドライブに挑戦したのであります。コロナのロックダウンが始まってから、毎日暗いうちに家を出ていたのですが、今日は流石に明るくなるまで待ちましたよ。もちろん車は冬タイヤを履いています。
No, I didn't join the snowman making. Why is that? Because I was in the office. I tried snow driving for the first time in my life. After this lockdown started, I have been leaving for the office while it still is dark. But I waited until it became light and slowly started driving. Of course we have a set of winter tires.

この結構な雪道の運転はちょっと怖かったけど、何だかエキサイティングでした。1日働いて、帰り道にはほとんどの道路はきれいに除雪されていました。で、私が家に着いた時にはあの雪だるま君はすでに完成していたわけです。雪道運転デビューを果たせたわけですが、雪だるま作りには参加できなかったわけです・・・。残念。
It was scary but exciting to drive on these very snowy roads. I worked the whole day and on the way back the road had already been cleaned up nicely. And when I was back home, the snowman was already standing there. I was feeling like a great snow-driver, but I missed the snowman making!
