日本一時帰国中のankodrop家であります。いつものことながらDropはお仕事なので（いつもそれに便乗して帰って来ている、というか、dropの仕事を学校休みに合わせている)、ankoと子供達で毎日遊び歩く毎日。子供を連れて、あっち行き、こっちゆき。。もう忙しいのなんのって。笑
The Ankodrop family is currently in Japan. As usual, Drop has to work in Japan. We usually come along when Drop has to work in Japan. That is to say, Drop adjusts plans his work during our (school) holiday. Anko and the children have fun everyday. We, Anko, children and Anko's parents go here and there... we have been extremely busy.
我々、昨日は姫路城に行って来ました。その帰り道のこと、私、すごいものを発見してしまったのです。
Yesterday, we went to Himeji castle and on the way to come back home, I found something incredible.

「どこのホテル？」「どっかの会議室？」いえいえ、違いますよー。これはただの公衆トイレなのです。
"Which hotel is that?" "Is it a meeting room?" No no. This is just a public toilet...
日本には多くの高速道路にサービスエリア（SA)と呼ばれるところがあります（改めて書くまでも無いと思いますが）。そこで皆車での長旅の休憩をしたり、何か食べたりするんですよね。たくさんのレストランやお土産屋、地元の名産品などが買え、そこにはもちろんトイレも。私が小さい頃は特に特別なこともなかったのですが、最近は道路公団自体が民営化されたこともあり急速に変わっていますね。各SAごとに特別メニューとか、リラックするできる空間があったり、スターバックスコーヒーやその他ファーストフード店、コンビニもたくさん入っています。でも中でもトイレは超キレイになりましたよね！各SAが集客の為、設備を競って改善しているんのだとか。
In Japan, there are so-called service areas (SA) along every highway. Those are the places where you can rest and eat during a long trip by car. Many restaurants, souvenir shops, local product shops, and of course toilets are available. They were not so special when I was small, but recently they have been privatized and they have changed rapidly. Special food menus for each SA, relaxation spaces, Starbucks coffee shops, fast food restaurants, convenience stores... but most of all extremely nice and clean toilets. Each SA is competing to get more customers by improving their facilities.
上の写真は新名神高速道路の宝塚北SAです。ここは去年の12月にオープンしたばかりの新しい（高速道路）SAでこの建物はかの有名な宝塚歌劇の宝塚劇場を模しているんだとか。
The pictures above are from SA Takarazuka Kita on the New Meishin highway. It was newly opened last Decemember. The building of the SA was designed to be similar to the famous Takarazuka theater, where the legendary Takarazuka revue is held.

And this is the entrance of the main toilet.
家族トイレというものも完備で、小さな子供のいる一家に最適。ドアはボタンをひと押し、自動ドアですよ。（我が子達はこのボタンで遊ぶ遊ぶ・・・）
There are also some family toilets, for families with young children. The doors of course are automatic (push a button) (My children played with this button a lot....)
日本ってキレイでハイテクなトイレがどこにでもあるということでかなり有名だとは思うのですが、これはさすがに私の想像を超えました。。
I believe Japan is justly famous for having clean/high tech toilets everywhere, but this was beyond my expectation...
あ、そうそう、着替えができるスペースと姿見ももちろん完備ですよ。
Oh, yeah, there is also a fitting room and a tall, decorative mirror in there.
トイレはさておき、他にもこの新名神で気がついたことが一点。あるトンネルを通っていたときのことでした。なんか変な緑のライトがついてくるのです。
Toilets aside, I noticed something else on the Shin Meishin highway. While we were driving in one of tunnels, we noticed a strange green light following us.
何だろう？と思って調べてみると、これってこの新しい高速道路に導入された新しい技術なんだそうな。ペースメーカーなんですって。anko父はこの時９０km/hで運転していたのでこの緑のライトは我らを追い越していってます。でももし１００km/hで運転していたらこのライトはずーっと横にいてペースを守らせてくれるんだろうなと思われます。しかもこのライト、事故やら何やらの時は色が変わるんですって。トンネル火災の時は赤、事故や落下物の時は黄色になるそうな。これもかなり面白くないですか？
When I looked up what it is, this is a new technology introduced on this new high way. A pace maker. My father was driving about 90km/h at that time, so the green light was overtaking us. But if you are driving about 100km/h, the light will probably stay with you to guide you.... The light also changes in case there is an accident or something in the tunnels. Red (fire) and yellow (an accident or objects on the road). Also quite impressive, isn't it??
