今年はオランダはフリースラントの州都であるレーワルデンという町が欧州文化首都に選ばれているということで、この一年フリースラントの色々なところでそれに纏わるイベントが企画されているようです。オランダ人の友人が子供連れに楽しいイベントもあるだろうからいってみたら？と言ってくれていたのですが、特にプログラムを見てみるわけでもなく、ま、暖かくなったらなんか覗いてみようかなぁ、なーんて軽ーく考えておりました。
This year, the capital city of Friesland province, Leeuwarden, in the Netherlands was declared European Capital of Culture. There are many events planned in several locations in Friesland. One of my Dutch friends pointed this out to me, saying there must be nice events for families with small children as well, so I should check the program. So far, I haven't seriously checked the program. I am have been thinking that maybe we can find something when it gets a bit warmer.
そんなある日、その彼女がこの文化首都一環でこんなお芝居があるんだよー。Ankoに良いんじゃない？日本の劇団で日本語でのお芝居なんだって。とリンクを送ってくれました。オランダ語のリンクだったし、ちらっとだけ見て、ふーん、そして値段を見て、高いわ、と詳しい内容も見る事なくリンクを閉じていたわけで。
One day, however, my friend sent me a link of a theater performance held in Leeuwarden. She says it must be good for me. Because of the cultural capital status, a Japanese theatre company is coming to Leeuwarden, and they will perform in Japanese! I had a quick look at the link (in Dutch), and also checked the price and thought, it is too expensive. I didn't check the actual contents and closed the link.
先週の始め、自分のFacebookのページをぼーっとスクロールダウンしていると、オランダ人の友人が前に送ってくれていたのと同じ劇の情報が日本語で紹介されていました。あら？これって、あの子が送ってくれた。。。そこに付いてたリンクを何気なくクリックするとそのお芝居の日本の公式ホームページに行き当たりました。
Early last week, I was just scrolling my facebook page and found some information about the same theatre production in Japanese. Oh, this is the one my friend sent me.... I clicked the link which goes to the official Japanese website of the performance.
うわっ！出演者達、テレビでめちゃめちゃ有名な人ばっかりやん！そう気がついてしまうとミーハー心に火が付くんですねぇ。うわー行きたい！と思い始め、あの高いと思っていたチケット代ですら、うわー安いやん！と思う始末。なんとも都合の良い奴でございます、私。早速近くに住む日本人のお友達に「行かない〜？」と誘い、彼女が一緒に行ってくれることが分かると早速チケットを2枚手配したわけであります。お芝居のある数日前でしたが、幸いにもチケットは売り切れていませんでした。
Wow! All the actors are extremely famous (from TV)!! After I realized that, I acted like a fangirl and I started thinking that I actually really want to go. Even the price I initially thought "it is too expensive" in my mind changed to "It is so cheap!". What a shallow woman I am... I immediately contacted a Japanese friend to ask if we can go there together. She was happy to join me. I immediately booked two tickets. Fortunately the seats were still available. It was just a few days before the performance.
お芝居は夜の８時15分スタート。我ら、レストランでの夕食を含むステキな計画を立てて行きました。よく考えてみると、子供ができてから日本人の友達と家族抜きで夜に出歩くなんて、ほぼ初めてだったんですよね。なんとも贅沢！劇場にはちょっと早く着いたので、ホールで座って雑談していると、日本人が来るわ来るわ。うわー、ここ、レーワルデンにこんなに日本人がいるなんて！みんなが近所に住んでいるわけではないと思うので、このたくさんの日本人に非日常な感じがしたのは私だけではないはず。
The performance started from 8:15 PM. We made a perfect plan, including nice dinner before that. It was almost the first time since I had children that I went out, without my family, with my Japanese friend. Such luxury! We arrived at the theater quite early and were sitting in the hall. A lot of Japanese people came! Wow! So many Japanese people in Leeuwarden! I don't think there are that many living close by, so it was very strange to see so many there.
お芝居については全く前知識なし状態での観劇でした。でも素晴らしかった。ただ、ただ、素晴らしかった。一度始まってしまうと、3時間超のお芝居が全く飽きることなく、舞台から目が離せなかった。俳優さん達の演技もさることながら、それにも増して演出がすごい。あんな広大な世界観をこの小さなステージの上に表現することができるなんて！見にいくことができて凄く嬉しかっただけではなく、彼らはまるで私のためにこんな小さな町レーワルデンに来てくれたのではないかと錯覚する様な演劇鑑賞でありました。欧州文化首都バンザイ！
I had almost no knowledge about the story of the performance, but it was great. Really really great. Once it started, I couldn't pull my eyes from the stage. More than 3 hours, and not bored for a second... Of course the actors' performances were outstanding, but I was even more impressed how well the world of the story was evoked on stage. I was really happy I could watch that and almost started believing that they had come to this tiny city Leeuwarden especially for me.
