この度我等、人生で一番大きい（だろう）お買い物をしてしまいました。何って？それは、マイホーム！今まで住んでた（まだ住んでるけど）Drachtenのお家は賃貸で、Boyが学校に行き始める4歳の誕生日までにはどこかに落ち着きたいねーとずーっと探してはいたのです。そして、つ、ついに！買っちゃいました。おかげさまで銀行口座は空っぽだ―！
Recently, we bought something that may be the biggest thing we ever buy in our life. What is that? Yes. we bought a house! The place we were living (actually we are still living) was a rental house and we were searching for a nice house, hoping to move before Boy goes to school when he turns 4 years old. Then! Finally we bought it! My bank account is almost empty...
ともかく。家購入についてはまた（たぶん）別に書くとして、今日は私の小さな夢の一つについて。それは、自分の庭に小さな家庭菜園を作って、食料を少しでも自給自足すること。はは、こんなこと言うと私を知る人（特に両親）には「あんたの庭、草ボウボウやったやん！」と突っ込まれるのは必至なのですが、まぁ、それはそれ、これはこれ 笑。
Anyway, I will write about the house buying some other time. Today I want to discusss one of my small dreams. This dream is to make our own vegetable garden and get some of the vegetable from there. Maybe people who know me (especially my parents) must say, "Your current garden was a complete mess!" But it is ok.
そう、我らの新しいマイホームには結構な広さのお庭があるのです。しかも、前の家主さんがすでにその一部を家庭菜園にしておられたのですよー！何もせずに夢、かなったり。わはは。そして前家主さん、親切にもその家庭菜園で育った今が旬の野菜たちも残していってくれました。
Yes. our new house comes with a relatively large garden. The previous owner of the house has created vegetable patch in a part of the garden. My dream becomes true without doing anything! Haha! Additionally the previous owner left us the things that are ready to pick this season.
Boyとママは大喜び。早速自分で植えずしての初収穫でございます。残されていたものは、大量のズッキーニ、トマト（今年の夏は寒かったからか、まだ緑が大半・・・）、ナス（虫食いが・・・）、（この収穫はもう少し先かな）かぼちゃ、と菜園の中ではないけれど、ぶどう！見るだけでウキウキになります。
Boy and Mama are very happy. We didn't plant anything but we do have the harvest! The things which remain were a lot of zucchini, tomatoes (since this summer was very cold, most of the fruits were still green.), eggplants (with insect damage) and pumpkins (they will need some more time) and grapes (it is not in that part of the garden though). It may not seem much, but it makes us very happy.

Zucchini plant. The fruit grows in the centre of the plant. I didn't know the plant at all!
早速Boyとパパで収穫してくれました。こんなにたくさんが自家栽培できるなんて、サイコーです！
Immediately Papa and Boy picked some produce. I am grateful that we can have so much!
しかもこのズッキーニ、こんなに大きいの！（携帯と並べてみました。）
And the size of zuccini is something like this. (I put my mobile phone next to it for scale.)
後はトマトとかぼちゃが採れるとうれしいかな。
そんなこんなで私たちのものになった家庭菜園。来シーズンは何を植えようかしら・・・。
If we can also get more tomatoes and pumpkins, that would be great.
So we got a garden with vegetable patch. What can we plant for next year??
