There was a phonecall to Drop yesterday.

It was to ask Anko to be an interpreter of Japanese. Since a colleague (doctor) of the house doctor who saw me once before, will have a Japanese patient who cannot really speak English or Dutch, she wants me to explain what the person's problem is.

I thought "Wouldn't it be very hard?? I cannot understand if there are medical terms..."
But optimistic Anko decided to accept the request to help people. It is also a good opportunity to get to know people.

About 9 o'clock in the morning, a nurse came to pick me up. Although I am relatively shy and was quite nervous about the task, the nurse was very easy to speak to (great nurse!) and I felt a bit relieved.
We arrived at the house doctor. We saw one Japanese looking guy getting out of a car that had stopped in front of our car.
"It must be him!" We were talking and followed him into the doctor.

Anko "Hello"
Japanese guy "??"

It looked like he didn't know I was coming. But he kindly accepted me as the interperter. When we talked a bit, I found out we are of similar age and can be friends. I am lucky!

The most impotant thing, the translation was ok (I guess...). I had a very good experience.

On the way back, the same nurse drove me home as well and my first small task (?) in the Netherlands was done! "I have a small present for you." The nurse gave me a small bunch of flowers.

I wonder if I was useful...
