Free Your Mind Jewelry!
In January, I went to the Makahiki event at Turtle Bay.
It was there that I met this beautiful girl named Jana,
who designs and makes hand-made jewelry.
Her brand is called "Free Your Mind," and
out of all the vendors there, her pieces were the only ones
that caught my eye.
The instant I saw them, I was immediately in love!
I bought these earrings and wore them right away.
You can tell I love them! Just look at the big smile on my face!
一月にタートルベイで開催されたMakahikiというイベントで
可愛らしい女の子に出逢いました。名前は、Jana.
彼女は、Free Your Mindというジュエリーを作る
アーテイスト。全てハンドメイドでとってもオリジナリテイ溢れる
彼女の作品に私は一目惚れ。
沢山出展されていたお店の中から彼女のジュエリーだけが
ひときわ目立っていました。
すぐに彼女のイヤリングを買い自分の耳にはめた
私の顔にはビックスマイル。
Ever since then, I've been wearing her designs
pretty much every day, which says A LOT.
I even went so far as to do an interview with her
on my radio show, and I ended up liking her things
even more after that, if such a thing is even possible.
All of her pieces are one of a kind and unique -
just like each and every one of us, which is actually
the main reason why her jewelry designs are so.
Jana wants everyone who wears her jewelry to feel special and unique!
それ以来私はほとんど毎日の様に彼女のイヤリングを着用。
あまりにも気に入ったので彼女の事をもっと知りたくなり、
自分のラジオの為にインタビューをさせてもらいました。
そして、インタビュー後にはもっと彼女の作品が好きになりました。
手作りで一つ一つとってもユニークな彼女の作品はJanaが
彼女の作品を見に付けるみんなにスペシャルな気分になって
もらいたいから二つとして同じ作品は作らないのですって。
世界でたった一人しか居ない自分だからこそ、身につけるものも
世界でたった一つしかないものの方が絶対に良い！と話す彼女。
This particular earring design blends feathers and
a dream catcher motif.
これが私の一番気に入ったデザイン。
鮮やかな黄色の羽にドリームキャチャーがついた物。
Once, when Jana wore feathers in her hair,
she distinctly remembers it making her feel beautiful.
The dream catcher serves to catch all bad thoughts and things,
and let only good thoughts and things pass through to you.
Together, this design makes for a pretty amazing concept and product!
Jana's love for designing jewelry was initially influenced by
her grandmother, who taught Jana the craft at a very young age.
The knowledge on how to make dream catchers comes from
her grandmother, too.
以前にあるフェステイバルで羽を髪に付けたときに自分が一瞬で
なんだか美しくなった気分を味わった事から、このピアスに羽を
付けるデザインを考え出したそう。
ドリームキャッチャーを耳に付ける事によって、悪いものを
通さずに、良いものだけを自分の中に取り入れる為だと。
彼女のジュエリーは見た目だけではなく、素敵なコンセプトが
しっかりとあったのですね。
彼女は幼い頃から物を作るのが得意だったお婆ちゃんに
ジュエリー作りを全て習ったそう。
このドリームキャッチャーも、もちろんお婆ちゃんが
作り方を教えてくれたそうです。
